Blimey! That's what you call a bargain. I won't say how much I paid for mine!

Nice. And I thought the days of such finds were long gone, what with Charity shops being much cannier these days.
Made a helmet band from a cut-down length of inner tubing, with some helpful pointers provided by the fine gentlemen of this forum.
My stahlhelm looks much more handsome now.

Having a bit of a kit clear out. Some German and American stuff to list up later.
Fitted a stronger spring and a better barrel to my P38 springer.
Made some new goggles. As a glasses wearer I need to wear mesh to reduce fogging but the mesh goggles that will fit over my glasses look a bit out of place. I had tried some biggles style motorbike goggles but they fogged up like a bitch so I got some mesh and took the lenses out. I cut the mesh larger than the lenses and bent the excess back until they fitted. Lots of epoxy glue to fix the mesh in place and a dusting of matt brown plasticote to hide the visible glue and give them a dirty look and job's a good'un. Very pleased with the result and the seem a lot more sturdy than the mesh goggles I have been using.
Make sure you thoroughly test them before use - don't take any chances with your sight even if worried about issues of authenticity! Eye protection is unfortunately a necessary evil of this hobby.
I would not have even attempted this if I had any doubts that I could make them at least as safe as my existing goggles. The steel mesh I have used is stronger than on my existing goggles, the glue I have used is very strong, the goggles have a lot of foam padding which will soak up most of the energy of an impact and even without the mesh there is only a tiny gap that would allow a bb past my glasses underneath anyway.

Sounds good, man. I was considering doing something similar with a Jerry or Brit set of goggles.
Today I fitted a hop to my Webley without too much trouble. Results are very positive!

Occasionally happens to me too when I'm not using Tapatalk. Usually I just refresh the page and it loads fully.

Now that I live in North Wales, I went on a visit to SOF on my day off.
Let's just say, you can go to the checkout any time you want, but you can never leave...
After seeing photos, I painted my goggles a lighter colour (khaki) to try and avoid the lone ranger look
Hollowed out and fitted an original 1928 stock to my king arms thompson. Happy happy
